Do You Need Help?
      The Jonnycake Center's Emergency Food Pantry provides food to individuals and families who are having a hard time making ends meet.  We also provide assistance with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP - formerly known as the Food Stamp Program) applications to anyone who needs it, in order to ensure that everyone receives as much help as possible each month.

WHAT TO BRING THE FIRST TIME YOU VISIT or TO RECERTIFY:

* Proof of residency - Must live in South Kingstown or Narragansett.
* Your identification card (driver's license, etc) with current address.
* Your spouse's identification card (if applicable) with current address.
* Your children's birth certificates if they are not in school, or medical cards (if applicable).
* Children school age or older need proof they reside at the same address as applicant.
* Copy of letter from school if your children participate in the free/assisted meal program. 


                  
APPLYING FOR THE SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SNAP)


Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP - formerly known as Food Stamps) applications are available at the Jonnycake Center, and we are happy to help you complete these forms.  You can also complete an application for Food Stamps at home or online. 

To apply online, click on the link directly below to go to the RI Department of Human Services (DHS) online application form.  To download and print a copy of the form click on the second link below.  This document is in PDF format.  You will need to have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer to open this document.  Forms can also be completed online at any local library. 

You can also call your local DHS Food Stamp Program Office and ask them to mail you an application form.  South County area residents:  1-800-282-7021
