GIFTS FOR CHILDREN, SENIORS, and HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS

Once again the Jonnycake Center of Peace Dale is partnering with the Welcome House and the Narragansett and South Kingstown School Departments to make the holidays brighter for local residents who are struggling to make ends meet.  This includes adults living in the Welcome House shelter and supportive housing; seniors living on a fixed income; and South Kingstown and Narragansett school children whose families will struggle to fulfill their holiday wishes.

Based on the needs that exist, we have established the following goals:

Gifts and gift cards for 550 school-aged children
Donations of art supplies, Legos, beauty products, and sports equipment are welcome. We encourage gift cards for Walmart, Wakefield Books, Olympia Sports, Marshalls, Amazon, VISA/Mastercard, and Game Stop.

Gifts for 35 adults living in Welcome House housing
We welcome gift cards for local grocers, pharmacies, and gasoline.  In addition, gifts of hats, gloves, socks, and warm clothing are needed.

Gifts for 150 homebound and low-income seniors
We encourage gifts cards for pharmacies and grocers, as well as blankets, slippers, scarves, hats and gloves that can keep our seniors toasty warm.

All gifts and gift cards are tax deductible and should be delivered by December 16th.  Donations can be dropped off at the Jonnycake Center at 1231 Kingstown Road, Peace Dale in the rear of the building or the Welcome House at 8 North Road, Peace Dale or  For questions or concerns, contact

Thank you for making the holidays brighter for hundreds of local residents!
