THANKSGIVING DAY FOOD BASKETS
Purpose: To provide a turkey and a basket of food containing items needed to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner.
Donations Needed: Gravy mix, stuffing, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, quick bread mix, pie crust mix, evaporated milk, canned pumpkin, and canned pie filling. Please note: The Jonnycake Center does not need donations of turkeys and potatoes as we have already made arrangements for these items. Cash donations to help us purchase the turkeys are welcome, however.
Important Dates: Donations must be received by Tuesday, November 15th. Please call 789-1559 x10 to schedule a drop off date and time. Please note: We are not open on November 13th or November 14th.
DECEMBER HOLIDAY FOOD ITEMS
Purpose: To provide items needed to prepare a holiday meal during the month of December.
Donations Needed: Gravy mix, stuffing, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, canned yams, canned pineapple, quick bread mix, pie crust mix, evaporated milk, canned pumpkin, and canned pie filling.
Important Dates: Donations must be received by Saturday, December 10th. Please call 789-1559 x10 to schedule a drop off date and time.
SCHOOL VACATION FOOD BASKETS
Purpose: To provide a basket of food containing items needed to prepare breakfast and lunch for school-aged children during the December school vacation week.
Donations Needed: Boxes of cereal, pancake mix, maple syrup, canned juice, juice boxes, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni & cheese, tuna fish, soups, crackers, and hot cocoa.
Important Dates: Donations must be received by Wednesday, December 14th. Please call 789-1559 x10 to schedule a drop off date and time.
SANTA’S WORKSHOP
Purpose: To provide holiday gifts to children ages birth-12 years. The number of gifts provided for each child is dependent upon the number of donations we receive. Santa’s Workshop provides parents the opportunity to select gifts for their children and wrap them before taking them home.
Donations Needed: Toys/gifts suitable for boys ages birth-12 years and girls ages birth-12 years, board games, puzzles, books, and art supplies. Please donate only new and unwrapped gifts/toys.
Important Dates: Donations must be received by Tuesday, December 13th. They may be dropped off at the Jonnycake Center on or before that date. The Jonnycake Center hours are Tuesday – Saturday from 9am – 3pm. However, we prefer that they are dropped off at St. Francis Church on High Street in Wakefield on Tuesday December 13th between noon and 6pm.
TEEN GIFT CARDS
Purpose: To provide gift cards to children ages 13-18. The number of gift cards provided for each teen is dependent upon the number of donations we receive.
Donations Needed: Gift cards in any denomination for local restaurants, fast food establishments, music stores, book stores, clothing stores, sports store, jewelry stores, movies passes, and gift certificates for hair salons and barber shops. We appreciate gift cards from local establishments as many of our teens do not have access to transportation.
Important Dates: Donations must be received by Tuesday, December 13th. They may be dropped off at the Jonnycake Center on or before that date. The Jonnycake Center hours are Tuesday – Saturday from 9am – 3pm.
ELDER APPRECIATION
Purpose: To provide holiday gifts to our senior citizens in appreciation for all their past and present contributions to our community.
Donations Needed: Gift cards in any denomination for local restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacy chains, hair salons and barber shops, clothing stores, book stores, and also blankets, bath robes, and fruit baskets.
Important Dates: Donations must be received by Tuesday, December 13th. They may be dropped off at the Jonnycake Center on or before that date. The Jonnycake Center hours are Tuesday – Saturday from 9am – 3pm.
