Teen Jonnycake members participate in a wide variety of programs critical to the operation of the Jonnycake Center of Peace Dale.
•Emergency Food Pantry:Teen Jonnycake members assist in the Jonnycake Center’s emergency food pantry, stocking shelves and filling food baskets for clients.
•Back to School Supplies:Teen Jonnycake members are responsible for organizing and filling backpacks with school supplies for the children of clients each Fall at the beginning of the school year.
•School Vacation Meals:Over February, April, December and summer vacations, Teen Jonnycake members fill special baskets of breakfast and lunch foods for children who receive these meals at school during the year.
•Holiday meals:Teen Jonnycake members are responsible for filling and distributing all the food baskets for Thanksgiving and December holidays.
•Holiday gifts:Gifts for elders, gift cards for teens, and Santa’s workshop, which provides gifts to children of clients are all organized and coordinated by Teen Jonnycake members.
•Neighborhood Pantry Express:Over the summer, Teen Jonnycake members run this program which provides over 1000 pounds of fresh produce each week in a farmer’s market setting to clients and others in need.
•Prom Attire:Teen Jonnycake members are responsible for providing appropriate prom attire for high school-aged children in need.
•Peace Dale Neighborhood Improvement:Teen Jonnycake members work with the Peace Dale Neighborhood Revitalization Committee and others in the community on a variety of community improvement programs.
