The Jonnycake Center is committed to protecting your privacy online. We do not collect personally identifiable information from you unless you provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly. This policy is your guide to how we will handle information we learn about you from your visit to our website.

Our commitment to your privacy and security
The Jonnycake Center for Hope is committed to protecting the privacy and the security of your personal information.  This policy describes the kind of information we collect from you.   We do not sell or rent the information you provide to us.  If you have questions regarding the policy, please contact info@jonnycakecenter.org

Information Collection and Use

The Jonnycake Center collects information from you at various points on our website, such as when you make a donation, sign up to volunteer, register for an event, or sign up to receive our electronic newsletter.  Generally speaking we will ask for some personal information including but not limited to your name, address, telephone number, email address, subject of inquiry, and, where appropriate, credit card number.

We use this information to send you updates and useful information about our programs and our work, enhance website operations, for statistical purposes, and for overall systems administration.

You also may decide to send us personally identifying information, for example, in an electronic mail message containing a question or comment, or by filling out a web form that provides us this information.  (For security purposes, credit card information should never be emailed to us.) We use personally identifying information from email primarily to respond to your requests.  We may forward your email to other employees who are better able to answer your questions.  And we may also use your email to contact you in the future about our programs that may be of interest.

Unsubscribing and opting out

We recognize that you may wish to limit the ways in which we contact you. You may opt out of receiving specific types of communication (telephone, email, SMS/text, print mail) from the Center at any time by emailing us at info@jonnycakecenter.org. To stop receiving e-mail communication you may utilize the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of email communications.

You cannot remove yourself from our database, but you can prevent unwanted communication.

Privacy and Children
For children who visit our site, special rules apply. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under the age of 13, such as name, address, phone number and/or email address. When children under the age of 13 send us email (which is always by their own choice) their email address and any other contact info is only used to provide an immediate response and is not maintained in retrievable form.

Security
We take precautions involving physical, electronic, and managerial controls to protect from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, and alteration of any of your personal information in our possession. We may employ industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer encryption when requesting certain personal financial information from you. We do not, however, use such encryption during your day-to-day use of the site.  Because our e-mail correspondence is not encrypted, we advise you to never send financial information via e-mail.

We use third party vendors to process online and credit card donations. These parties maintain standards to meet PCI compliance guidelines and only request personally identifiable information for the sole purpose of providing us with the gift-processing service.  To learn more about PCI Compliance please visit https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/index.php.

Our data networks – online and offline – are protected by industry standard firewalls and password protection systems. Only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our donors and web visitors. Any other particularly sensitive information, such as a credit card number collected for a commerce transaction, is also encrypted prior to transmission. Although we operate secure data networks, no internet transmission can be guaranteed 100% secure. However minimal, you use this site and its services at your own risk.
