Education Initiatives
Jonnycake Center has partnered with the University of Rhode Island as part of the South Kingstown Year Long Learning Support (SKYLLS). SKYLLS and the South Kingstown School Department work together to bridge the educational gap for economically disadvantaged children and youth. This partnership will enhance the well-being of South Kingstown’s next generation by advancing an innovative, year-round partnership focused on education during out of school time.
Initiatives include academic enrichment for Peace Dale Elementary students; improving school attendance for students attending Broad Rock Middle School and trauma-informed training for teachers; and increasing current FASFA completion rates for South Kingstown High School students.
