We are strongest when we work together to help those in need. We are a better community when we work for the common good. Here are a few of the many ways you can be part of the solution to ending hunger and poverty in our community.
Give Financial Support
Financial gifts give us the best bang for our buck as we can purchase food from the RI Community Food Bank and other wholesalers. Financial gifts also ensure we can purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, and proteins not otherwise available through donations. Every gift has an impact, no matter how big or small.
Please send checks to:
The Jonnycake Center for Hope
1231 Kingstown Rd, Peace Dale, RI 02879
Please consider a legacy gift by naming the Center as a beneficiary in your will or by contributing to our Capital Campaign, A New Home for Hope, to support the purchase and renovation of our new facility.
Jonnycake Center For Hope is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Our federal identification number is 05-0374356.
There are a number of volunteer opportunities at the Center including serving visitors in our food pantry, sorting donations for our thrift store, delivering groceries to homebound seniors, assisting with fundraising and events, and preparing taxes for low-income filers. We will also seek helpers during the holiday season this year
Our team of more than 150 volunteers donated 10,000 hours of their time in 2019.
We accept donations of food for our market, clothing and accessories for our thrift store, and toys and gift cards at the holidays.
Visit Jonnycake Market for a list of current needs. Donations can be dropped off at the Market located at 1183B Kingstown Road in Peace Dale during Market business hours.
Clothing, Accessories, Decorative
We welcome clean and gently used adult and children’s clothing, handbags, shoes and jewelry, and small decorative household items. We kindly ask that you donate only items that you feel are in good enough condition that someone else would want to buy them.
Beginning in November, we welcome donations of gift cards (grocery stores, Wakefield Mall retailers, Walmart, VISA, Amazon, and others), as well as gifts of hats and warm weather gear, toys for children of all ages including art supplies, games, and other popular items.
